General Headlines CRDB Bank signs MoU that boosts African investment in SMMEs CRDB Bank of Tanzania has secured a $75 million long-term funding facility from FMO, the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank. The financing agreement will run for approximately 10 years and is intended to strengthen the bank’s financial position and support future growth. The funding will increase CRDB Bank’s Tier II capital, allowing it to expand lending to small, medium-sized, and microenterprises (SMMEs). These businesses play an important role in promoting entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and supporting economic growth across Tanzania and the region. The facility is also backed by the European Commission’s SMME guarantee platform, which will help unlock more funding for small businesses. Criminals often pretend to be trusted individuals or organisations and create a sense of urgency to pressure people into making quick decisions. According to Capitec's financial crime experts, anyone can become a victim, regardless of their age or level of technological knowledge. Scammers often target people who are emotionally vulnerable, experiencing financial difficulties, or looking for opportunities to improve their financial situation. Common tactics include romance scams targeting people who have suffered personal loss and investment scams that promise quick and easy returns. Young professionals and individuals who are less familiar with technology may also be at greater risk. Capitec advises consumers to be cautious of unsolicited requests, especially those that create fear, excitement, or pressure. The bank also encourages families and friends to openly discuss fraud risks and seek advice before responding to suspicious messages or making payments.(BusinessTech) Markets and Investments Isuzu invests R30m in Gqeberha plant as it gears up for new truck launches Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) has invested approximately R30 million in upgrading its commercial vehicle assembly plant in Gqeberha.
